Rapper Asher Roth sent us a statement on a story we did earlier today about him coming out of the closet to admit he is gay based on several internet reports (read more details here). We also included in that post a statement by his record company that denied Asher was gay and that he had been dropped but nothing like to hear it from Asher himself.

Asher Roth statement: “I hate to disappoint and take away the entertainment of it all but I am straight, not gay. It’s disheartening to know such “news” on someone’s personal life can be portrayed as fact with no viable source. This, to me, is an opportunity to expose our vulnerability to lies and manipulation through unprofessional and irresponsible news outlets, in which people consider TRUTH. Further, someone’s sexual orientation should NEVER be big news, as it delivers a troubling message to children that they can’t be themselves without fear of judgment. Race, creed, and sexual persuasion should not just be tolerated but understood and accepted. It’s extremely disappointing that this topic would be used with the intention of being hurtful. We are near 2010….2010!! Yet race, sex and religion still play a major role in a hate driven society. For the love of the future and humanity….let’s wake up.”

Philanthropist Brooke Astor’s 85 year-old son Anthony Marshall was finally convicted of looting $185,000 million of his mother’s fortune and sentenced to one to three years in state prison at the Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday (December 21) – read more details and photos.

Anthony reportedly stole money from his mother, who died at the age of 103 back in 2007, to satisfy the needs of his big spender much-younger wife, Charlene, 64. Anthony will spend the holidays with the family and will turn himself in on January 19, 2010.

Earlier this year, on September 13, 2009, we lost Luanne Platter (voiced by actress Brittany Murphy) – the easy, sexy, airhead blonde niece of Hank and Peggy Hill on the animated hit-classic King of the Hill when the show was canceled after 13 successful seasons.

Ironically we also lost Brittany Murphy as well this year when she passed away yesterday in Los Angeles.

Luanne Platter Kleinschmidt was 22 at the time of the finale of King of the Hill.  Murphy was 32.

Brittany Murphy Autopsy Results: Cause Of Death Natural

Actress Brittany Murphy was rumored to have serious weight issues and was possibly battling anorexia, which may have played an important role in her tragic death by cardiac arrest on Sunday (December 20).

In her last interview, Brittany admits that she is also concerned about her shinny look and that she doesn’t want to send the wrong message to her fans. “I am a bit thinner now than what I would like to be,” Brittany admitted at a fashion event in Los Angeles Dec. 1. “I was a ballerina for a long time. I still take ballet lessons now – what it does to your body is incredible.”

Hollywood has been putting a lot of pressure on young stars to look thinner in order to adjust to its unhealthy beauty standards. Psychology Today says, “One can’t help but notice her shrinking frame and frail appearance in recent years. It has been a far cry from her healthier appearance.”

The LA County Coroner declared the 32 year-old actress appeared to die of natural causes but the official cause of death can only be determined when the result of toxicological tests, which can take up to eight weeks, arrive.

Country star Carrie Underwood and her Canadian hockey player boyfriend Mike Fisher (photos here) are officially engaged to be married but a date hasn’t been set yet. “I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier,” Carrie’s rep said.

Actress Brittany Murphy suffered a full cardiac arrest at her husband Simon Monjack’s home and was later pronounced dead at 10:04 am on Sunday (December 20). According to Ed Winter, Assistant Chief Coroner in Los Angeles County, the cause of death appears to be natural, no foul play suspected.

An investigation of the 32 year-old tragic death is being conducted. The family is very distraught but continues to be “very cooperative” and an autopsy will be performed today or Tuesday (December 22).

“It appears to be natural at this time,” Winter said. “We do understand she had a bit of medical history. We’ll be probably doing an autopsy tomorrow or Tuesday. The final results will be pending toxicology and further tests.” The official cause of death should be announced in about 6 to 8 weeks, pending toxicology results.

Rapper Asher Roth is reportedly set to finally come out of the closet and announce to the whole world he is probably the first gay white rapper in history in E! News special this week. The rumors Asher is gay started after an unnamed hip-hip artist was mentioned in Terrance Dean’s 2008 tell-all “Hiding in Hip-Hop: Confession Of A Down Low Brother In The Entertainment Industry”.

Asher was recently seen at a Gay Rights Parade in New York, which was also attended by Clay Aiken, Michael Stipe and Lady GaGa. Asher is not happy with these rumors and his record company has decided to issue an official statement denying he is gay.

Asher Roth Makes A Statement: “I’m NOT Gay!”

Roth’s record label statement says, “Asher Roth is not gay, and is not scheduled to be interviewed on the E! Channel. Furthermore, Asher has not been dropped from SRC Records, and is a top priority at thelabel after having sold over a million copies his ‘I Love College’ single. Asher is currently working on his next album for SRC.”

Actress Alicia Silverstone, who worked with Brittany Murphy in their breakthrough movie “Clueless” back in 1995, feels sorry that they didn’t stay in close touch over the years but claims their bond endured.

Alicia said of Brittany’s shocking death at the age of 32, “I always felt connected to her as we shared a very special experience in our lives together. I feel love in my heart for her – and hope she is at peace. This is truly sad. I’m so saddened to hear this news. I loved working with Brittany. She was so talented, so warm, and so sweet.”

Despite rumors that Brittany was “difficult” on set, all the people who worked with her seem to describe the actress as someone really sweet with a big heart. Ashton Kutcher described Brittany as a “piece of sunshine”. She will be terribly missed!

On her biggest pet peeves being animal neglect and kitchen chaos: “I hate it when people don’t take care of their pets. It’s important to spay or neuter them… And it drives me crazy when people put stuff in the wrong place. When I have people over and they try to help clean up, I’m like, ‘No, I’ve got it!’ I may not be able to control every aspect of my life, but I can control where my pots go and what color cups are lined up where. On ways to blow off steam: “If I’m ticked off, I’ll get a punching bag and beat the crap out of it… I [also] love Monday Night Football and The Biggest Loser, and I rarely miss an episode of American Idol.”

On wanting to start a family: “Not that I have a husband to have one with yet, but someday I’d like a family—not a big one, but not a small one either. Two kids is good; three is fine. Four? Somebody’s getting something done, because we ain’t having five!”

Actress Brittany Murphy, who tragically passed away on early Sunday morning (December 20), had been very ill with flu-like symptoms for several days and actually vomited that morning and told family she was not feeling well.

Brittany seems to have collapsed in the bathroom but was found by her mother, Sharon Murphy, in the shower with a significant amount of vomit surrounding her. There was no illegal drugs found at her house but the actress was certainly taking several prescription meds.

The 32 year-old actress suffered from type 2 diabetes but it isn’t likely to have caused cardiac arrest. The L.A. County Coroner’s Office stated that foul play is not suspected nevertheless an autopsy is scheduled to be performed Monday or Tuesday, which husband Simon Monjack reportedly opposed to. Brittany was too young to die and the family needs to know why, how it happened to have some closure.

Who Won Survivor Samoa 2009? The winner of the 19th season of Survivor is Natalie White, a former pharmaceutical sales rep from Arkansas, who beat fellow contestants, Jaison, Mick and Russell, to take home the Survivor title and win the $1 million prize on the big “Survivor Samoa” finale on Sunday (December 20).

Russell Hantz, who is considered to be the greatest Survivor player ever or most notorious villain, took the second place, the Sprint player of the season award and a $100,000 prize. However, Russell was clearly upset he didn’t take the first place, which he believes belonged to him. Russell said, “If Mick or Natalie won this game over me, that would just be a shame. It wouldn’t make any sense to me. I’ve played this game strategically better than anybody, maybe in history.”
