We had to say goodbye and pay the last tribute to many of our favorite celebrities in the year of 2009. We should always remember them for the amazing, talented artists they were. They have inspired generations, made part of our lives for years and some even decades therefore they will not be easily forgotten.

2009 Most Shocking Celebrity Deaths Below

Actress Natasha Richardson, who was married to actor Liam Neeson, tragically died after a critical brain injury from a ski accident in Quebec, Canada, on March 18, 2009. Natasha was 45 years old.

The “Charlie’s Angels” beauty died after a long and complicated battle against anal cancer on June 25, 2009 (the same day we also mourned the loss of Michael Jackson). Farrah Fawcett, who was planning to marry her life partner Ryan O’Neal, was 62 years old.

The King Of Pop passed away after going into cardiac arrest at his rented home in California on June 25, 2009. Michael Jackson was possibly a victim of medical malpractice as well as his drug dependency. We are still waiting for some justice to be made and see the King’s personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, pay for his role in the tragic death of the music genius. Michael was 50 years old.

Titans star Steve McNair was shot death while sleeping in the couch with his mistress Sahel Kazemi in what was ruled as a murder/suicide in a condo in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 4, 2009. Steve, who was married to Mechelle McNair and had four sons, was 36 years old.

Adam Goldstein aka DJ AM died from an accidental overdose in his NY apartment on August 28, 2009. The recovered drug addict, who dedicated his life to help others in the same situation he once was, had ironically survived a plane crash a year prior to his death. Adam was 36 years old.

Actor Patrick Swayze had a long battle against pancreatic cancer that came to an end on September 14, 2009. The “Dirty Dancing” star was 57 years old.

The ‘Boyzone’ singer Stephen Gately was found dead in his hotel bed after a night of partying with his partner Andrew Cowles in Majorca, Spain, on October 10, 2009. Stephen was only 33 years old.

Brittany Murphy’s death was probably the most shocking and unexpected. The actress went into cardiac arrest, found unconscious in the bathroom by her mother, taken to the hospital and pronounced death on arrival on December 20, 2009. The official cause of death is still unknown. Brittany was 32 years old.
