NBC Late Night: Jay Leno Is In, Conan O’Brien May Be Out!
TMZ is reporting Jay Leno, whose current 10 pm show goes on hiatus February 1, will be back to his 11:30pm time slot after the Winter Olympics. Conan O’Brien’s future is uncertain, which means Leno’s new show could be only half an hour followed by Conan or take a whole hour and Conan just disappears.
A rep for NBC tells TMZ: “Jay Leno is one of the most compelling entertainers in the world today. As we have said all along, Jay’s show has performed exactly as we anticipated on the network. It has, however, presented some issues for our affiliates. Both Jay and the show are committed to working closely with them to find ways to improve the performance.”
Jay may be doing what is expected of him but Conan’s ratings have been down so he is the weakest link. I like Conan and I like Jay too… can we please keep both, NBC?
