Artie Lange has been finally released from the Jersey City Medical Center after he reportedly stabbed himself nine times with a 13-inch Wolfgang Puck kitchen knife in what was considered as a suicide attempt (read more details) at his apartment in New Jersey on Saturday (January 2, 2010).

Artie was bleeding on the floor when he was found by his mother, Judith Lange, who came by his apartment to bring him food. Judith called 911 at exactly 9:36 am. Police ruled the incident as a suicide attempt and will not conduct an investigation.

Howard Stern’s sidekick has admitted to suffer from depression, to be battling a heroin addiction and to have tried suicide at least once before, when his dad suffered an accident that paralyzed and ultimately killed him in his memoir book “Too Fat To Fish”, which was released back in 2008.
