Gretchen voice is so pretty. You need to sing more song……………….. that song has touch my heart.
I have been an opera and jazz singer for 20 years, and I can tell you that going into a studio and having them use a mixing board, to give your voice vibrato, and depth…does not a singer make. The producer used the mixer to give her voice a deeper sound, by doubling her voice, to run simaultaneously,as if to appear richer. The vocal backrounds where used to enhance her range, and make her weak alto,appear stronger. The beautiful thing about money, is that anyone can sing..if they can afford the studio time. Magic is created by the illusion of something beautiful instantly turning on, but behind every curtain there is a puppet master…dont forget money to some, is magic. There is now raw talent here, no firm foundation, no training, and no dedication.A person does not wake up one morning and become a singer(like a halloween costume). A singer starts with a gift, a true gift, that takes years to mold.. Fame and infamy, does not shape you into an artist..Yes, there is a difference. To a layman beauty is always on the surface, in todays society reality…is not reality…its a swamp, that you have to dig through. No one wants to be “real” anymore,or work and strive to be better than you were yesterday…why should they? The media and “reality tv” rollercoaster does our thinking for us, so that beautiful ocean just appears. In truth, real truth, beauty is inside us, we have to dig, to push ourselves to be the best we can be everday, that takes work. The only thing I see being worked on is a record contract, not a true talent. If Gretchen wants to sing, Id like to see her take classes, do vocal range excercises, join a church…put in the time. Betweeen handbags, and makeup, I doubt there is any left. If this is what she really wants, then she will work for it, and not have it handed to her. Gretchen is so lucky to have a platform at which to begin, she doesnt have to climb the stairs like the rest of us…I hope she opens her eyes and awakes to that, I wish her luck and success, but at this point…she hasnt done anything to prove her passion.
