John Calipari Calls ESPN’s John Buccigross ‘Jagoff’
Kentucky Wildcats head basketball coach John Calipari called ESPN anchor John Buccigross a ‘Jagoff’ (Jackoff) during a live interview on Sportscenter after Buccigross asked Coach Cal about losing the 2008 NCAA championship game to Kansas while Cal was at Memphis.
Cal (from Western Pennyslyvania) then asked Buccigross where he was from. Buccigross humorously responded Western PA. Cal called Buccigross a ‘jagoff’ or ‘jackoff’ at least three times during the interview. Those from Pittsburgh regularly use Jagoff instead of Jackoff or A**Hole.
Urban Dictionary defines ‘Jagoff‘ two different ways:
| Jagoff | ||
|
A rude a**person. originated in pittsburgh
“Yinz were acting like jagoffs the other night, all drunk on Ahrns n’at”
|
||
|
Pittsburgh’s way of saying “jackoff.” An anoying, a** hole.
The light turned green, but that jagoff tourist didn’t get going!

YouTube Video while it lasts:
UPDATE: Coach Calipari via Twitter: “John Buccigross & I go back 10 yrs. We’re both from Pitt. It’s a term of endearment & we went back n forth using that term b4 we went on-air.”
Coach Calipari in spin mode, something he has perfected.
