The British Academy of Film and Television Arts – BAFTA nominations were announced and it’s going to be a tough battle between “Avatar” and “The Hurt Locker” with eight nods each. The 2010 BAFTA awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Opera House in London on February 21.

Former Presidential candidate John Edwards has finally publicly admitted that he fathered a child, baby Frances Quinn (photos), with his former mistress Rielle Hunter, who was his campaign videographer.
After months of denial, John’s confirmation may have been triggered by his campaign assistant Andrew Young’s tell-all ABC News interview, which is scheduled for next week. Young reportedly assumed the paternity of the child to prevent a major scandal.
John Edwards released the following statement:
I am Quinn’s father. I will do everything in my power to provide her with the love and support she deserves. I have been able to spend time with her during the past year and trust that future efforts to show her the love and affection she deserves can be done privately and in peace.
It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me. I have been providing financial support for Quinn and have reached an agreement with her mother to continue providing support in the future.
To all those I have disappointed and hurt these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry.
John and his wife Elizabeth have separated. And John is also currently being investigated for allegedly taking money of his political action committee to pay for Rielle and Young’s silence.

Tara Reid and boyfriend Michael Axtmann are officially engaged after he reportedly asked her hand in marriage during a special romantic dinner at The Little Door restaurant in Los Angeles on Monday (January 18).
“Michael surprised Tara with a beautiful round brilliant cut ring,” the actress’s rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Tara was so happy, and the other patrons clapped and yelled out, ‘Congratulations.’”
Tara, who recently proudly showed off her naked body in a Playboy photos spread, and Michael, who is an Internet entrepreneur, started dating last year and are already planning a small wedding this summer.

Republican Senator John McCain’s gorgeous wife, Cindy McCain, followed her controversial daughter Meghan McCain’s footsteps and posed for the NOH8 campaign in support of equal marriage rights for all Americans. Cindy claims marriage equality isn’t about politics anymore, it’s a human rights issue and therefore everybody should be treated equally by law.
