Actor Jeff Bridges, who won the Golden Globe Award for “Best Actor: Drama” for his role in “Crazy Heart”, gave a very emotional speech and did not forget to thank his late father Lloyd Bridges for encouraging him to pursue an acting career.

Jeff said his father “loved show business so damn much” that he encouraged his kids to come along. “I’m so glad I listened to you, Dad,” he said, looking up to the heavens. “Glad I paid attention.” Jeff is one step closer to winning an Oscar!

The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards hosted by British comedian Ricky Gervais were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday (January 17). The big winners of the night were “Dexter”, with two awards for “Best Actor” (Michael C. Hall, who recently announced he is battling cancer) and “Best Supporting Actor” (John Lithgow) in the TV category, and as expected “Avatar” beat the competition to win the golden globe for “Best Picture: Drama” and “Director” (James Cameron).

Chicago Bears star Gaines Adams passed away in Greenwood, South Carolina on Sunday (January 17). The 26 year-old defensive end was rushed to the emergency room at the Self Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead at approximately 9 am.

According to the Greenwood County Coroner James T. Coursey, a preliminary autopsy seems to indicate Gaines died of a cardiac arrest that was caused by an enlarged heart. R.I.P. Gaines Adams.
