Comedienne/talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will replace Paula Abdul in the ninth season of the famous talent show “American Idol”, which kicks off on Tuesday (January 12, 2010). Fox just released the first promotional pictures of all the judges, including Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi and host Ryan Seacrest (check out photos below).

“I’m very excited to be on the show,” Ellen has said. “I will tell you that right now. I just continue to be excited every single day.” Ellen won’t appear on the show until February. Several celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Mary J. Blige, Katy Perry, and Shania Twain, were invited to be guest judges on the show.

Johnson & Johnson heiress, Casey Johnson’s cause of death remains undetermined. The 30 year-old, whose body was found on Monday (January 4), had a history of diabetes and, in fact, she had fallen into a diabetic coma and had to be hospitalized twice before.

The police found no evidence of foul play and “an insignificant” amount of prescription medication but there were insulin syringes in the home where she passed away. The LA County Coroner confirms there were no signs of trauma and no anatomic evidence of heart disease, liver, kidney, vascular or other obvious problems. Suicide has been ruled out. The official cause of death has been deferred pending toxicology results.

V Magazine is innovating and instead of using super skinny, unhealthy looking models, the plus-size models will dress up and pose sexily without fear of showing too much skin in a special “Size Issue” which will hit newsstands on January 14, 2010 (photos below).

V Magazine’s press release: “What’s the skinny on today’s models? Big is bigger than ever, and these bombshells of plus-size are proving that there’s plenty of room in the fashion world for women who look like…women.”

The plus size models (Candice Huffine, Marquita Pring, Michelle Olson, Tara Lynn, and Kasia P) will also strip of their clothes to show their real women, real bodies and real curves figure. “Tik Tok” star Kesha Rose Sebert aka Ke$ha revealed she is comfortable with her sexuality and she does not like to label things – she is interested in people in general, both boys and girls! Bisexual is the new black in Hollywood.

Ke$ha said, “I like people. I wouldn’t say I’m gay or straight – I don’t like labeling things anyway. I just like people.” As for her participation in Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” official music video, she confessed, “I had no idea it was going to be such a massive hit!”

The 22 year-old, who broke the record for the most downloads by a female artist with “Tik Tok” beating Lady GaGa, launched her debut album titled “Animal” on Tuesday (January 5).

Billboard Queen Angelyne, who was once famous for her huge billboards in Hollywood, filed a lawsuit against FOX Searchlight Pictures for the unauthorized use of her billboard image in the movie “Notorious” (billboard image below). Angelyne’s billboards were previously featured in the movie “Volcano” with her permission of course!

Angelyne claims that she was alerted by several fans that her billboard appeared in the movie for a whole 12 second segment, which enraged the pseudo-star who calls herself “a world renowned celebrity” for her “eye-catching and highly visible billboards and photographs…” Seriously? Angelyne should be thanking them but instead she wants damages and an injunction.

This brand new season of the famous weight loss reality show, “The Biggest Loser”, brings the heaviest cast and toughest challenges ever. The 22 contestants, who compose eleven family teams of two members, will completely transform their lives to lose a record amount of weight under the supervision of trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.

Trainer Jillian, who will have her own show titled “Losing It With Jillian”, confessed to be worried about the contestants being “too big” (some weighing in almost or more than 500lbs) but is happy to have “bigger” challenges every season. The new season hosted by Alison Sweeney will premiere on Tuesday (January 5).

Michael Amyx, of Sullivan County, Tennessee, was arrested on January 2nd for public intoxication.  When police arrived, in response to Amyx’s own 911 calls, they found him drunk and wearing a Nazi uniform.

While arguing with his father, Amyx placed several calls to 911, which brought a Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office deputy to his home. As reported byKingsport’s Times-News, Amyx, who smelled of alcohol and appeared to be drunk, was standing outside the residence wearing a Nazi uniform (as seen in the below mug shot).

I must point out that Sullivan County is in East Tennessee and hundreds of miles away from God’s country of West Tennessee.

The Avatar craze is catching on.  ESPN announced today that we can expect ESPN 3D in the middle of this year (2010).  The technology will first be tested on a host of World Cup soccer matches.

ESPN 3D will showcase a minimum of 85 live sporting events during its first year, beginning June 11 with the first 2010 FIFA World Cup match, featuring South Africa vs. Mexico, ESPN and ABC Sports president George Bodenheimer announced.

Other events to be produced in 3-D include the 2011 BCS National Championship Game, college basketball and football contests, up to 25 World Cup matches and the Summer X Games. Additional events will be announced at a later date.

Will fans be willing to don spectacles to watch their favorite sports at home?  Will we be able to watch 3D as some point without 3D glasses?  We live in a time when it is much more enjoyable and cheaper to watch sporting events from our living rooms as opposed to at a stadium or arena.

Loleini Tonga, the fiancée of the Cincinnati Bengals star Chris Henry, who jumped off her moving yellow pick-up truck and died as a result of his injuries on December 17 (read more details), spoke up for the first time about the tragic incident in an exclusive interview for ESPN’s “Outside The Lines” (watch video below).

Loleini revealed that Chris jump from the truck but not with the intention of killing himself. Loleini said, “I think he thought maybe he was gonna land … he was gonna land right? He wouldn’t want to be gone away from his kids.” When asked why she didn’t stop the car before he jumped, Loleini told, “I was gonna stop, but there was nowhere to stop on that road.” Chris was only 26 years old.
