Eccentric Lady GaGa opened up the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards with a short performance of her hit “Poker Face” before she sat face to face with Sir Elton John to battle it up on the piano to “Speechless” and the classic “Your Song” (watch video below).

The two were covered up in ashes and revealed their admiration for each other’s work by altering the lyrics to their own songs. “How wonderful life is with Gaga in the world,” John sang and GaGa responded with “Thank you. Love you, Sir Elton John. So speechless.” The performance was absolutely amazing and fantastic. It was something only GaGa and Elton could really pull off. At the end, the duo received a standing ovation from the crowd.
