Former NFL star Warren Sapp has been arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for domestic battery after an heated argument/fight with his girlfriend in Miami on Saturday (February 6).

His girlfriend of two-years slept in his hotel room at the Shore Club Hotel, when he stormed into the room at around 5 am and pulled her out of the bed to confront her about some guys she had been hanging out with on Friday night. During the argument, Warren allegedly grabbed her, started to choke her and, finally, threw her out of the room.

Warren told the cops he had allowed the woman, who had “a swollen right knee and bruises on the back of her neck.”, to stay in his room but changed his mind and was expecting company. The Dancing With The Stars contestant was supposed to work as an analyst for the NFL Network but the network released a statement saying he will not appear on the show until they have a chance to review the matter.
