Kevin Martin Traded from Kings to Rockets

The Sacramento Kings traded shooting guard Kevin Martin, Kenny Thomas, Hilton Armstrong, and Sergio Rodriguez late Wednesday night to the Houston Rockets for former all-star Tracy McGrady, power forward prospect Joey Dorsey, and Carl Landry according to sources.

Martin became expendable with the emergence of 2009 first round draft pick Tyreke Evans, who is the leading candidate for Rookie of the Year (ROY).

On first glance it appears that the Rockets easily won this trade, at least on paper. McGrady has become an expiring contract.  Houston gets four quality players in return for two (Dorsey and Landry).

McGrady is off to the Knicks now, and I’m assuming they’ll get a good 10 games out of him before he gets injured again. Then he’ll probably be shipped off to China for some sneaker deal like Marbury…
