The American Idol Season 9 Top 12 finalists tackled songs by The Rolling Stones during the first live show on Idol’s BIG stage on Tuesday (March 16) – watch all the performances below. The night should have been unforgettable with energetic, fierce performances but it was a YAWN-fest instead.

Thanks Siobhan Magnus! She dared to scream her lungs out and kill the boredom that had been set with performances that weren’t horrible but weren’t memorable either. There were some above average performances – Michael Lynche, Didi Benami, Casey James and Crystal Bowersox.

The special musical guests are American Idol season 7 winner, David Cook, new pop star, Ke$ha, who will perform her new single “Blah Blah Blah” (perfect example of fast-food artist!), and singer-guitarist Orianthi, who is set to perform “According To You”.

So who is going to be sent packing tonight? From now on there will be only one elimination each week. If we solely take in consideration the contestants’ performances last night, Lacey Brown, Tim Urban and Katie Stevens will be at the bottom three. And Tim finally gets the boot!

However, Idol has been more of a popularity contest so we believe both Lacey and Tim will be safe. At the bottom three we will have Andrew Garcia, Katie Stevens and Paige Miles. Why Katie and Andrew? They were big fans’ favorites at the beginning but they have been target of harsh criticism by the judges because they set the standards way too high for these contestants.
