Actress Katherine Heigl, who plays the role of Izzie in “Grey’s Anatomy”, has finally confirmed she is leaving the hit TV show for good in order to concentrate on her family (husband Josh Kelley and adopted daughter Naleigh – photos here).

Katherine told Entertainment Weekly, “I am done. We just finalized our agreement. Everyone had been working really hard to find an amicable and gracious way of letting go and moving on. It’s sad but it’s what I wanted.”

“I started a family and it changed everything for me,” she explains. “It changed my desire to work full-time. I know I’m disappointing the fans. I just had to make a choice. I hope I made the right one.”

I was never a fan of Izzie but I have to admit Katherine did a great job with the role she was offered. The truth is you can really tell Katherine is more interested in making movies than working the tight and frantic schedule of TV shows.
