The American Idol Top 10 finalists, who were mentored by Usher, had to tackle some classic and iconic R&B and Soul songs during the live show on Tuesday (March 30). Andrew Garcia finally loosens up to perform Chris Brown’s “Forever” (watch video below).

This was the performance that finally impressed the judges but still didn’t erase the moment he delivered a fabulous rendition of Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up” (watch video here). Kara DioGuardi said Andrew took one giant leap in the right direction. Simon Cowell agreed it was one of his best performances but claims Andrew is boring and needs personality.
