The American Idol Top 12 finalists took over the big stage to perform some of the Rolling Stones’ biggest hits for the first time on Tuesday (March 16). Aaron Kelly owned the stage and delivered an emotional performance of “Angie” (watch video below).

Aaron had some tender moments which led Randy Jackson to compare him to Justin Timberlake. Ellen DeGeneres claims Aaron is trying to steal her hair style. Simon Cowell first thought he would crash and burn on that stage but was pleasantly surprised with one of Aaron’s strongest performances. Aaron was born to sing!

The American Idol Top 12 finalists took over the big stage to perform some of the Rolling Stones’ biggest hits for the first time on Tuesday (March 16). Paige Miles revealed a bit more of herself and her story before performing “Honky Tonk Women” (watch video below).

Paige had laryngitis, which didn’t allow her to give her best in rehearsals, but finally showed she can hit the high notes on the live show. The judges praised her performance considering her condition. Simon Cowell said that Paige still wasn’t able to establish a connection with the audience.

Randy Jackson thought it was dope but to Ellen DeGeneres Lee was only “almost there” like a “hospital gown”. Kara DioGuardi says he has been evolving more than anyone else on the show. Simon Cowell believes Lee has an incredible voice but he needs to have more confidence and own the stage.

Seriously? I thought it was quite a boring performance until she started screaming like a mad woman. The judges pointed out she is dramatic and theatrical reminding them of Adam Lambert. Ugh! We have to agree with Simon Cowell when he said that some people will love it, others will hate it but it’s a lot better than being indifferent and boring.

The American Idol Top 12 finalists took over the big stage to perform some of the Rolling Stones’ biggest hits for the first time on Tuesday (March 16). Tim Urban, who comes from a big, big family of 10 siblings, five sisters and only one shower, performed “Under My Thumb” (watch video below).

Tim did a completely different arrangement of the song that did not do the trick. Randy Jackson didn’t get the reggae-version and said it was weird, bizarre and crazy. Simon Cowell applauded Tim’s creativity and how he made the song his own but pointed out that Rolling Stones’ fans would be angrily turning their TV off. OUCH!

Katie delivered a strong performance. It was not technically perfect for Kara DioGuardi but a lot better than last week. Simon Cowell was happy that Katie was able to finally connect with a song, made a difference and gave 100% on stage! It was good but it wasn’t memorable… sorry, Katie! We still love you!!

Andrew owned the stage and played with the mic. We liked it. Randy Jackson thought he was “pitchy all over the place” and Ellen DeGeneres said it was his best performance yet. Kara DioGuardi once again talked about the lack of intensity and connection to a song about the Vietnam War before Simon Cowell called it rubbish, saying, “What was he supposed to do, come out in a tank?” LOL!

Lacey’s performances sounded exactly the same since the beginning of the live shows. Actually this performance was vocally a lot better than the previous ones but YAWN – I’m with Ellen DeGeneres. I wanted to sleep. Simon Cowell thinks Lacey is over-thinking and acting more than performing.

I loved it!! Awesome! Kara DioGuardi of course loved it! Casey was a real rock star on that stage – he added a little bit of country and soul. Fantastic! Simon Cowell thought it was good but warned Casey that he needs to give more of himself on stage and stop being the guy just standing with his guitar looking lost. Casey, next time break the guitar and rip off your shirt!

Finally Didi proved that she can be a lot more than just another mono-tone singer. Randy Jackson claimed Didi was on fire, while Kara DioGuardi told her that she has to tackle all songs with the intensity she showed last night. It was certainly Didi’s best performance so far!

The American Idol Top 12 finalists took over the big stage to perform some of the Rolling Stones’ biggest hits for the first time on Tuesday (March 16). Michael Lynche aka Big Mike, who is finally reunited with his family and gave us another glimpse of his super cute baby girl, kicked off the show with his own rendition of “Miss You” (watch video below).

Mike’s performance was pretty good, above average but it wasn’t his best. Either way, I loved it, the judges loved it…oh, except Simon Cowell who said his dancing was a bit desperate and corny. Seriously? Ryan Seacrest confronted Simon on what part of the dancing should Mike work on and the two had a very awkward face-to-face, eye-to-eye moment.
