The American Idol Season 9 Top 8 Girls competed on stage for a spot in the final 12 on Tuesday (March 9). Katie Stevens sang Kelly Clarkson’s “Breakaway” and once again disappointed because she failed to deliver an explosive performance (watch video below).

The judges all agreed Katie has an incredible voice and her talent was never questioned. According to Simon Cowell, Katie doesn’t know what type of artist she wants to be yet but she does follow their advice every week. Even through, Katie “sucked the energy out of it a little bit”, Simon gave her 10 out of 10 for effort. Oh my!! Please save Katie!! She’s awesome!!

Andrew (Randy) Kwasniewski, who was the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, was found dead by his wife in their home in Vegas this morning (March 9). He was 55 years old.

According to TMZ, Andrew was found with an apparent self-inflicted gun wound to the head. The Las Vegas Metro Police Department launched an investigation on Andrew’s death but they are treating it as an suicide.

Former CBS news producer Robert Halderman pled guilty to one count of attempted grand larceny in the second degree and was sentenced to 6 months in jail, 5 years probation and 1,000 hours of community service (half in New York and the other half in Connecticut).

In the courtroom, Halderman said, “I have great remorse and sincerely apologize to David Letterman and Stephanie Birkitt. I attempted to extort $2 million from David Letterman.” Halderman called it “a thinly veiled threat.”

Halderman tried to extort money from the Late Show host, David Letterman, threatening him to expose Stephanie Birkitt’s diary, which had intimate details of Letterman’s sordid affair with the Late Show intern (read more details here).

Actor Max Ryan, who plays Rikard, Samantha’s (Kim Cattrall) love interest in the movie “Sex And The City 2”, was riding his motorcycle when a car turned in front of him causing a head-on collision, which left him trapped underneath the vehicle, in Los Angeles on Monday (March 8).

Max, who was hospitalized in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, broke a few ribs and crashed is collarbone but is reportedly in a stable condition. His manager, Erik Kritzer, tells Life & Style exclusively: “Max is stabilized. According to attending physicians, he has broken five ribs and cracked his collarbone.”

Casey and Kellie were married for three years between 2005 and 2008 but when it came to a dead end Casey chose music over his marriage. Kellie also claims Casey is very humble and doesn’t see himself as a heartthrob.

“Music is everything to Casey,” said his ex-wife Kellie, 31, a respiratory therapist. “Girls have always had crushes on him, but Casey doesn’t encourage it. He’s not conceited or full of himself. He just does what he loves to do, which is music, but he’s never thought of himself as a heartthrob. Frankly, I think it embarrasses him.”

Kellie recalls the motorcycle accident that almost ended Casey’s dream of a career in music. Casey broke his left wrist, right femur and was in a wheelchair for more than six months. After the near-fatal motorcycle crash, Casey thought he would never be able to use his hand again and play the guitar.

“The doctors told us that they didn’t know whether Casey would be able to use his hand again, much less play the guitar,” revealed Kellie. “When he was finally able to play again, Casey felt he had a new lease on life.”

The 27 year-old Idol, who had some wild teenage and early 20s years which included two arrests for driving while intoxicated, driving with an invalid license and reckless driving, is now a different man and devoted to his church (Leaning Tree Church In Mineral Wells, Texas).

“It’s a very contemporary church, and Casey gravitated toward the musical people in the congregation. Eventually, he played and sang in the praise-and-worship band,” Kellie said. “Church is still very important to him, and he plays music for a congregation in Fort Worth, where he lives now.”

Casey must have done something right! When an ex-wife talks so sweetly about the man who chose music over her, he has to be a good man and good person. LUV Casey! He is not only “eye candy” but also “ear candy” as Kara said. Casey has what it takes to become the next American Idol.

Former “Girl Next Door” Holly Madison and Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden have been secretly dating for a few months and they are reportedly ready to take the next step. Benji and Holly will be moving in together.

“Benji cares very much for Holly. They have been talking about living together,” a source tells In Touch. Holly will be saying goodbye to Las Vegas to live with her boyfriend in Los Angeles.

The State of California in response to intense pressure from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation is close to making it a state law to require actors to use condoms in adult pornographic films.

“The adult film industry has steadfastly refused to take any steps to protect its workers from diseases spread by blood borne pathogens, resulting in thousands of employees becoming infected with sexually transmitted diseases. Clarification and enhanced enforcement of the rules are called for,” wrote AIDS Healthcare Foundation President Michael Weinstein.

This really just sucks…it just doesn’t feel the same to me watching porn with a condom on…lol!

Wake up porn actors, even the trapeze artists in the circus use safety nets.  Required condom use in porn should have become required two decades ago.

Everyone likes to tiptoe around the adult film industry but that can’t be done any longer.  People that star in porn have sex with people outside of the industry.  Those people then have sex with your sister and that is when it becomes a community health epidemic.

The industry should be tightly regulated with required condom use and an intense STD testing program.

Marie Osmond’s son Michael Bryan Blosil, who reportedly committed suicide by jumping off his building on February 26 (photos here), was finally laid to rest in a private ceremony attended by his seven siblings and uncles, including Donny Osmond, held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Chapel in Provo, Utah on Monday (March 8).

“I’d just like to say thank you to everybody,” Marie Osmond said. “As you see I have amazing support from great men, my family, my brothers. God was very wise when he put me into a family with honorable men because they have served as examples for my children.”

“I’m so proud of each and every one of you,” she said. “I’m proud of my son and I honor his birthmother who’s here today, who gave me the greatest gift. Thank you for those beautiful 18 years.”

Marie delivered an unplanned emotional speech to honor her children during the ceremony while a photo slideshow of Michael as a child was shown. The ceremony was also attended by Michael’s biological mother, who gave him up for adoption. The family ended sing a closing hymn, “God Be with You Till We Meet Again.”
