Famed English music producer Steve Lillywhite is campaigning hard to replace Simon Cowell on American Idol after Cowell steps aside after the current season.

Lillywhite has produced albums over the past thirty years for U2, Dave Matthews Band, 30 Seconds to Mars, Counting Crows, Peter Gabriel, Matchbox Twenty, Morrissey, Jason Mraz, Phish, The Rolling Stones, and Switchfoot to name a few.

He is currently producing Amy Lee (of Evanescence fame) solo album due later this fall.

Lillywhite would make a very solid replacement, albeit a very typecast one. I believe they will likely go for more known star power than Steve. The days of the show are numbered as it is with Cowell’s departure, just months after Paula Abdul left the show.

Actor Sean Hayes, who played the ultra, over-the-top gay character Jack on Will & Grace, has come out of the closet himself in a new interview titled ‘I Am Who I Am’ in the new issue of gay/lesbian magazine The Advocate.

“Nobody owes anything to anybody. You are your authentic self to whom and when you choose to be, and if you don’t know somebody, then why would you explain to them how you live your life?”

Finally, Hayes gets to his true point: “I feel like I’ve contributed monumentally to the success of the gay movement in America, and if anyone wants to argue that, I’m open to it. You’re welcome, Advocate.”

You know, I don’t think anyone would have ever guessed that….right?

NFL star Ben Roethlisberger was reportedly photographed with the young woman, a college student, who accused him of sexually assaulting her inside the women’s restroom of the Capital City nightclub in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Ben and the unidentified woman were caught in a smiley, cozy moment (allegedly photo above) and of course Ben’s legal team is already gearing up a plan to use it as evidence to prove the woman is a liar. This woman is not the first to accuse big Ben of sexual assault (read full details here) but he will find a way out of his own mess once again.

Although the woman posed with the Steelers player in a photo and they looked happy and friendly, it doesn’t mean the assault didn’t happen. Even if the photo was a bit naughty and x-rated (which is not!), it still doesn’t mean the girl gave her permission for other sexual advances.

Actress Salma Hayek, who is well known for her curvylicious figure, wore quite a risky dress to attend the 18th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday (March 7).

The 43 year-old MILF did look stunning in a peculiar dress with exquisite print and shape, which actually accentuated Salma’s assets. That dress should have been a complete fashion disaster but it turned out to look just amazing! Wow!

Actress Farrah Fawcett, who passed away after a long battle against rectal cancer back in June 2009, was not included in the classic “In Memoriam” tribute at the 82nd Annual Academy Awards on Sunday (March 7).

This tribute included names like Patrick Swayze, Brittany Murphy and even Michael Jackson but Farrah was labeled as a TV star and therefore left out because there wasn’t enough time.

“It is the single most troubling element of the Oscar show every year,” says Bruce Davis, executive director of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. “Because more people die each year than can possibly be included in that segment. It gets close to agonizing by the end. You are dropping people who the public knows. It’s just not comfortable.”

It sounds like a lame excuse! Farrah was best known for her role in “Charlie’s Angels” but she also starred in several movies like “Sunburn”, “The Cannonball Run” and “Extremities”, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination back in the 80’s.

Former Oscar award winning actress Hilary Swank brushed off the butch and shocked most of us with her extremely toned body and cleavage explosion last night at the Vanity Fair Party at the Sunset Tower in Hollywood.

Swank won an Oscar back in 2004 for her brilliant performance in Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby which won Best Picture that same year as well.

Swank has been type-cast in our minds a bit since that great performance in Baby where she gained 19 pounds of muscle to play rugged female boxer Maggie Fitzgerald.

Tom Bergeron announced on Good Morning America this morning that the beautiful Brooke Burke, who won the 7th season of the reality TV dancing contest Dancing With the Stars, would be his co-host for this season on the

Burke and her professional dance partner Derek Hough won the 7th season over NFL player Jason Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska.

Burke replaces Samantha Harris who co-hosted DWTS with Bergeron from 2006-2009.  Bergeron’s co-host in the very first season was Lisa Canning.

Burke has previous hosting experience from her days of hosting the flavorful E! show Wild On! and Rock Star.
