Google will be changing its name effective immediately to Topeka as a way to honor the great capital of Kansas, the city of Topeka! Google, I mean, Topeka also announced the names for Google products like Topeka News, Topeka Maps or Topeka Talk.

Topeka Google Mayor Bill Bunten said: “Don’t be fooled. Even Google recognizes that all roads lead to Kansas, not just yellow brick ones.” And Googlers will now be called Topekers or Topekans. Google’s April Fools prank is kind of lame this year. Who wins? Topeka’s citizens will see their “little” town in the news all over the world on April Fools’ Day.
