The American Idol Season 9 Top 9 finalists had the privilege to be able to sing songs written by The Beatles’ legends John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney on the live show on Tuesday (April 6). Aaron Kelly kicked off the show with one of the most sleepy, boring songs from the big Lennon/McCartney catalog, “The Long and Winding Road” (watch video below).

Aaron’s performance was average, sleepy, boring and old fashioned. Kara DioGuardi noted that he is giving the same performance week after week. We already know Aaron can do power ballads! Kara basically wanted to tell him, he has to become Tim Urban and have fun on stage. :D Simon Cowell warned, “You’ve got to become young and relevant”. That’s what I have been saying for weeks! Thank YOU!

      Aaron, I thought you did fantastic singing the long winding road, in fact I like anything you sing, you are my favorite. Even though I’m up there in age, I could be your Great GrandMother,your family has to be very proud of you. Stay with it.
