SHOCKER! American Idol Top 8 Results: Michael ‘Big Mike’ Lynche Saved! (VIDEOS)
There was a lot of drama on American Idol results show on Wednesday (April 7). Two of the early favorites were in the bottom three and one of them was actually voted off before being saved by the judges.

The live shows have been pretty disappointing but the Lennon/McCartney night was probably the most exciting of this season. Ryan Seacrest warned the results would be a shocking surprise for many. The girls, Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus and Kate Stevens were called to the center of the stage, where they learned they were all safe for another week. Girl Power!
2010 American Idol 9 Top 12 Guys (BIOS, PHOTOS, VIDEOS)
Girls are safe, which means one guy will be eliminated! In a second phase, Ryan separated the guys in two groups: Casey James, Lee Dewyze and Tim Urban versus Aaron Kelly, Andrew Garcia and Michael “Big Mike” Lynche. One of these two groups was safe and the other was our bottom three.
2010 American Idol 9 Top 12 Girls (BIOS, PHOTOS, VIDEOS)
Not surprisingly, Casey’s group was safe. Yes, Tim Urban will continue to torture us with his smile Zac Efron-style. Aaron Kelly and Andrew Garcia are, as we predicted, in the bottom three, but surprising Big Mike joined them. Aaron was sent back to his seat.

Big Mike versus Andrew. We believe it was time for Andrew to say goodbye when Ryan shocked us all, saying Andrew was safe and Mike would have to sing for survival. Mike sang Maxwell’s “This Woman’s Work” and the judges unanimously decided to give him another chance. NO one was eliminated last night.
So what’s happening next week? Idol’s Top 9 will be mentored by season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert and two finalists will have to be sent home. We go from top 9 to top 7. The judges will not be able to use the save-card in the future.
