The American Idol Season 9 Top 7 finalists, who were mentored by singer/songwriter Alicia Keys, had to be inspired by their song choices to inspire us during the live show dedicated to inspirational songs on Tuesday (April 20). Tim Urban continues to melt hearts with his beautiful smile during his performance of The Goo Goo Dolls’ “Better Days” (watch video below).

Oh, Tim! Tim continues to improve every week but is it enough!?! Ellen DeGeneres, who compared him to a great shot of tequila last week, claimed Tim is like soup of the day now – some days she likes it and other days she doesn’t. Simon Cowell thinks Tim has been evolving and that he would have impressed him if it was the first time they saw him but it was a bit of a letdown. Simon, make up your mind already!
