Actress Halle Berry and her boyfriend/baby daddy, model Gabriel Aubry have reportedly broken up after more than five years together. The couple, whose daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry was born March 2008, has been secretly working on a financial and custody deal.

According to RadarOnline, Gabriel and Halle’s age difference (9 years) played an important role on their split. They have been separated for a couple of months. Gabriel is not going after Halle’s money, but he wants 50/50 physical joint custody of their daughter.

“Gabriel just felt it wasn’t working anymore,” the source says. “When they were first together the 9-year age difference between them didn’t phase him, she was the most beautiful woman he had ever dated and he was totally in love. But as time went on he started feeling it more and more. Also, Gabriel started noticing other women, and being attracted to other, and he felt it just wasn’t right to stay with Halle in those circumstances. Gabriel is a really nice, decent guy and he would never cheat on her, but I suspect that he had become attracted to someone and that he felt he needed to break it off with Halle before anything developed any further.”

Gabriel apparently only asked to keep the house they own in Canada, which he has been paying. Halle agreed with Gabriel’s requests but the actress is allegedly devastated because she thought Gabriel was THE one.

Halle had been previously married twice. Her first marriage with former baseball player David Justice ended after five years with Halle accusing him of domestic violence. Halle’s second husband, Eric Benet, reportedly cheated on her during their four years marriage.

The 43 year-old actress had decided to not tie the knot with Gabriel since she already felt completely happy. And we thought they would be together forever. They made the absolute perfect couple!
