The American Idol Season 9 Top 9 finalists had the privilege to be able to sing songs written by The Beatles’ legends John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney on the live show on Tuesday (April 6). Siobhan Magnus tried to show a different side of her as an artist by getting rid of the annoying screaming in a beautiful rendition of “Across The Universe” (watch video below).

Siobhan’s performance was very restrained and “polite”, according to Kara DioGuardi. Siobhan finally showed she can still hit the high notes and actually connect with a song. Siobhan got very emotional when Simon Cowell asked her to explain what that song meant to her. Siobhan said it’s all about her sisters always being there for her. Simon loves her unpredictability.

Casey James (aka “cougar bait” or “soap opera star”) and his guitar delivered a beautiful country version of Lennon’s “Jealous Guy” (watch video below).

Oh, I loved it! It was so emotional, beautiful and soulful, yet so simple. Kara DioGuardi melted and loved Casey’s vulnerability as it was like he was singing that song to someone special (perhaps his ex-wife, Kellie James?). Simon Cowell said Casey has been showing big improvements each week and declared Casey’s the best performance of the night! Aw! GO Casey!!

Tim Urban continued to enchant the audience with his beautiful smile, guitar and a rendition of “All My Loving” (watch video below).

Wow! The judges seemed to have adopted a new strategy to get Tim voted off – they complimented his performance and his Beatles’ hairdo. Randy Jackson labeled it a good Tim performance, while Kara DioGuardi praised him for fighting and trying to be better every week. Simon Cowell is very proud of Tim and says he takes criticism like a man. OMG! Tim may actually be voted off tonight after such positive critics!

Crystal Bowersox aka Mama Sox chose a fun song with a great groove and brought her guitar back to deliver a fantastic performance of “Come Together” (watch video below).

Crystal did her own thing and rocked the stage! It was one of Crystal’s best performances and most probably the best performance of the week (OK! Casey James won this week!). Crystal is ready to go to the studio and launch her own album. Simon Cowell pointed out Crystal’s performance was contemporary contrary to Mike’s! Go Mama Sox!

Big Mike cannot do wrong! Once again Mike proved that he can make an old song sound contemporary. Kara DioGuardi thought it was brilliant but Simon Cowell begged to disagree labeling it a very dramatic and theatrical performance. Randy Jackson reminded Simon that “musical” is relevant today, especially because of the fantastic success of “Glee”. Simon is confused about what type of artist Mike wants to be.

Andrew was misunderstood. Ellen DeGeneres thought it was a lot of fun and said looking at Simon that money can buy you love. OUCH! Randy Jackson thought it was pop but a bit corny, while Simon Cowell claimed Andrew and the band got it all wrong. Andrew needs to find himself and find a way to impress. We expected more!

Katie’s best performance ever! This time Katie does not deserve to be in the bottom three! It was a powerful performance and great vocals. Simon Cowell obviously isn’t really familiar with country music because he keeps saying Katie is a country singer. He also said Katie’s performance had a more country sound and that’s why she did so well. Ryan Seacrest asked Simon to specify which country he was speaking about. LOL

Aaron Kelly kicked off the show with one of the most sleepy, boring songs from the big Lennon/McCartney catalog, “The Long and Winding Road” (watch video below).

Aaron’s performance was average, sleepy, boring and old fashioned. Kara DioGuardi noted that he is giving the same performance week after week. We already know Aaron can do power ballads! Kara basically wanted to tell him, he has to become Tim Urban and have fun on stage. Simon Cowell warned, “You’ve got to become young and relevant”. That’s what I have been saying for weeks! Thank YOU!

At this stage of the competition, the song choice is crucial for survival and our Idol wannabes will have to leave it all on stage if they want to win!

Who was eliminated on Dancing With The Stars? Our ten celebrities and their professional dance partners were asked to tell a story through dance (watch videos below) during the live show on Monday (April 5). There were some very interesting story lines and others were a bit lame and cheesy.

Evan Lysacek, who danced with two broken toes, earned the highest score with his quickstep, while Buzz Aldrin and Kate Gosselin once again earned the lowest scores with their Waltz and Paso Doble, respectively. This competition is not really about who dances better but who has more votes.

Last week, Shannen Doherty was shockingly eliminated after landing in the bottom two along Pamela Anderson. This week, Buzz and Chad Ochocinco should go face to face in the bottom two. It’s time for our moon man to retire and leave the dance floor. We still love Buzz!! Kate should survive another week to boost ratings for the show.

Actor Jim Carrey and his funnywoman Jenny McCarthy announced that their relationship had come to an end after more than five years together. The two clearly still care deeply about each other as they expressed and shared their sadness with fans on Twitter.

Jim tweeted, “Jenny and I have just ended our 5yr relationship. I’m grateful 4 the many blessings we’ve shared and I wish her the very best! S’okay! ?;^>”

Jenny tweeted, “I’m so grateful for the years Jim and I had together. I will stay committed to Jane and will always keep Jim as a leading man in my heart.”

Jim and Jenny were one of Hollywood’s perfect couples and they should last forever. Jenny will continue raising her autistic son, Evan, and Jim recently became a grandpa when his daughter, Jane Carrey, gave birth to baby boy, Jackson Riley Santana (photos here).

Actress Sandra Bullock broke her silence to deny the latest rumors that she and her husband, Jesse James, had a homemade explicit, graphic and nasty sex tape (read all dirty details here).

“There is no sex tape,” Sandra says in a statement to People on Tuesday (April 6). “There never has been one and there never will be one.” The statement was short and straight to the point. There is NO sex tape.

The 45 year-old actress has not reacted to the several mistresses who came out to exposed their affair with her husband. Sandra is reportedly getting ready to file for divorce while Jesse desperately cried for forgiveness with a stint in rehab (for a week!).
