Casey James “Blue Skies” American Idol Top 5 (VIDEO)
The American Idol Season 9 Top 5 finalists, who were mentored by actor/musician Harry Connick, Jr., tackled some songs from Frank Sinatra’s musical repertoire in a night dedicated to ‘The Voice’ on Tuesday (May 4). Casey James is back, leaving his guitar at home for the first time to perform “Blue Skies” (watch video below).
How do I say this delicately? I love Casey but this performance was a complete disaster. Please, save Casey! Ellen DeGeneres said he was clearly nervous and looked a bit stiff. Kara KioGuardi, the cougar, thought he sounded like an annoying lamb and needs to work on his vibrato. Simon Cowell said Casey came over a bit awkward and embarrassed. Harry Connick, Jr. on Casey’s defense said you can’t hear a thing on stage. The truth is Casey needs the guitar to feel comfortable on stage…
