Hall Of Fame ‘Whiz Kid’ Robin Roberts Dead At 83

Philadelphia Phillies star Robin Roberts, nicknamed “Whiz Kid”, has passed away of natural causes at his home in Temple Terrace, Florida on Thursday (May 6). Robin is survived by four sons, seven grandchildren and a great grandson.

The 83 years old Hall of Fame pitcher led the Phillies to a 10-inning victory over the Brooklyn Dodgers, which was his 20th win and Phillies first pennant in 35 years back in 1950. During Robin’s successful 19-year career, Roberts had the best record in baseball from 1951 and 1955 and the fastball at 95-100 mph.

R.I.P. Robin Roberts.
