Barbara Walters Getting Heart Fixed, Valve Repaired

TV talk queen Barbara Walters announced on The View this morning that she will be taking some time off to have doctors replace a faulty valve in her heart.

“Later this week, I’m going to have surgery to replace one faulty heart valve,” Walters said, opening the show with news, which she had only revealed to her cohosts that morning.

“You kept it secret very well, Barbara,” Joy Behar said, and Walters explained, “I thought it best not to talk about it too far in advance.”

I am completely stunned that the curmudgeon even had a heart. We are hoping for a quick and full recovery for Ms. Walters.  Recovery could take anywhere from 1-3 months.  Barbara is 80-years old.
