Who was voted off American Idol? Last night (May 18), the American Idol Season 9 Top 3 finalists had to perform two songs, one chosen by the judges and another of their own choice, to fight for a spot in the big finale during the Choice Night live show – watch videos below. Another contestant will be forced to leave the competition on the results show tonight (Wednesday, May 19). And our Final Two will be revealed, which means we will meet the next American Idol next week.

Teen superstar Justin Bieber will be performing and “hot” new artist Travis Garland will make his debut. Not really what we would expect for a semi-final. Justin is kind of a big star for crazy teen girls. Travis who? isn’t enough for such an important night.

Who will be sent home on Idol tonight? This is the night! The most important night of the life of two contestants who will have the opportunity to fight for the Idol title next week. Lee Dewyze’s two performances were absolutely incredible and we believe we can declare Lee safe and in the final two. Crystal Bowersox, who was the early favorite, didn’t manage to go beyond of what we already know she is capable of, but her performances are always good. Casey James is the weakest link.

Crystal and Casey in the bottom two and Casey gets the boot is the most probable scenario, although we cannot rule out the possibility of an elimination shocker. In that case, we fear for our girl Crystal’s safety. The final two should be Crystal and Lee. And, contrary to what we have been predicting all season, Crystal may lose the Idol title to Lee after his incredible performances last night. Go Lee!!

UPDATE: This is it! Ryan talks to each contestant about their experience on the show. They are all happy to have come so far. Crystal Bowersox, who is a single mom and suffers from diabetes, claims she is the healthiest she has ever been.

UPDATE 2: The top 3 returned to their hometowns and were received like rock stars. Casey James was pleasantly surprised but he really wanted to see his family. Casey made a special visit to the hospital where he spent a lot of time after being in a motorcycle accident.

UPDATE 3: Celeb blogger Perez Hilton is there to present his latest “creation”, Travis Garland. Perez says he is better than Justin Timberlake. Really? NO way. Who cares? Go away. We want Bieber! I mean, we want the results. Travis’ performance = major FAIL!

UPDATE 4: Ryan Seacrest announces the auditions for season 10 will begin this summer. It’s time for Crystal to go back to her hometown. She visits her family and gets a bit emotional when she sings to her hometown fans. Cute. And, finally Lee Dewyze returns to Chicago. He goes visit his old school and the kids go crazy. Lee also visited his old job, colleagues and family. Crazy, crazy, crazy.

UPDATE 5: Justin Bieber performs “U Smile” and “Baby”. Teen girls go crazy. The end. And now the results, please. Here we go! Easy! Lee Dewyze is SAFE and in the big Idol finale next week. There was no suspense. Ryan announced Crystal and Lee will fight for the title in the finals. Casey James is OUT. He sang John Mayer‘s “Daughters” as is goodbye song.
