What was the main theme of Jesus’ preaching? It was the gospel of the KINGDOM ? (Luke 4:43; Luke 8:1; Matthew 24:14; Matthew 28:19, 20) Why then, do religions today have conflicting doctrines as to what God’s Kingdom really is? They rarely, if ever, talk about the Kingdom, much less identify what that Kingdom really is; yet the KINGDOM was the MAIN theme of Jesus’ preaching. (Matthew 3:2; 4:17, 23; Luke 4:43) That Kingdom is a heavenly Government with Christ as the chief ruler. (Isaiah 9:6, 7; Luke 1:33) When on earth, Christ specifically said that the Kingdom is the theme that will be preached in these last days before the end comes. (Matthew 24:14) Who are the ones preaching it today in imitation of Jesus and the apostles? Kindly observe and see for yourself. They must be a busy group visiting people at their homes and elsewhere as Jesus and the apostles did.(Matthew 10:12, 13; Acts 5:42)These ones are NOT perfect (Romans 3:23) as we all know, but they sincerely try to live up to God’s standards and obey his command through Jesus Christ to preach God’s Kingdom. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 1:8) Note that at Matthew 28:19, 20, Jesus promised that he will be with his followers even unto the end of the world. This surely indicates that Jesus’ true followers will be in existence carrying out the work of teaching all nations and making disciples at the period of time before the end comes; for how else could Christ be with them unto the end of the world, if they are not in existence? We are now in the period of time before the end of the world. This means that Christ’s true followers are NOW preaching worldwide as they have been doing long before.
Are these true followers of Christ to be scattered in all different religions believing and teaching different things on the same subject? Christ and his apostles and disciples were all UNIFIED in teaching. (1 Corinthians 1:10; 1 Corinthians 14:33)They CERTAINLY belonged to ONE religion. None of them would have been a Pharisee, a scribe, or Sadducee. If any were such, he would have changed his false religion and become part of Christ’ true congregation back then, as Saul, who became the apostle Paul, did. (Acts 9:4-18; Acts 26:12-16)
We cannot fool ourselves into thinking that all religions please God. There can ONLY be ONE TRUE religion. (Ephesian 4:5) Satan wants us to think otherwise. In effect Satan is saying: “Religion doesn’t matter. Forget Jesus’ statement at John 4:23, 24. God doesn’t care whether or not a person is part of the group of ‘true worshippers.’ All religions please God”. WE ALL MUST BEWARE OF SATANIC REASONINGS.
The wise course is to seek to find the TRUE religion. An aid to doing so is considering the important questions mentioned below. Honest answers to these questions can assist a person truly seeking the ONE TRUE religion.
1. Which religion today teaches persons about God’s Kingdom in all nations as Christ said they would? (Matthew 24:14; Matthew 28:19, 20)
2. Which religion today makes God’s name known to others as Christ did? (Exodus 6:3, Psalms 83:18; John 17:6, 26; Acts 15:14)
3. Which religion does not take part in wars? Thus, its members do not join the army. (Isaiah 2:4; 2 Corinthians 10:3, 4)
4. Which religion today does not have a Clergy/ Laity class, thus not using high-sounding titles such as Reverend, Pastor etc. for those taking the lead? (Matthew 23:8-10)
Considering these 4 questions very seriously and honestly, among others, can help a person to find the TRUE religion that God is using today. Yes indeed! That ONE TRUE Religion exists today.
