13-year old Jordan Romero became the youngest person every to summit Mount Everest (elevation 29,028 feet) on Saturday.  Jordan is from Big Bear, California.

Romero is an expert climber even at his young age. He has now climbed six of the most challenging seven summits in the world.  The only one that remains is the Vinson Massif in Antartica.

Romero, naturally had a self interest in climbing Everest, but he also wanted to use the fame and national attention to encourage America’s youth to get outdoors and become more active.

“Obese children are the future of America, the way things are going,” he said on April 9 in Kathmandu. “I am hoping to change that by doing what I do: climbing and motivational speaking.”

With a smile, he added: “I am doing this a little for myself, too, to do something big.”

The previous youngest climber to summit Everest was 16-year old Temba Tsheri of Nepal.

Congrats to Jordan on his remarkable accomplishment and good luck this December with the Vinson Massif.

Musician John Mayer performed live at one of the biggest music festivals in the world, Rock In Rio held at Parque da Bela Vista in Lisbon, Portugal on Friday (May 21). The show started with Mariza, a Portuguese Fado singer, followed by Brazilian Axé singer Ivete Sangalo and finally, John Mayer and Shakira.

John was welcomed by 81 thousand screaming people. He looked absolutely terrified for at least 10 seconds, not knowing what to expect since it was his first time in the country and there were a lot of Shakira fans in the audience. The “Gravity” singer first looked super shy and very focused on his music, but he quickly won the crowd when he babbled a couple of words in Portuguese and a few “Obrigado” (Portuguese for “Thank You”).

John started singing “Heartbreak Warfare” out of his latest album, “Battle Studies” (watch video below). The song is rumored to have been written for one of his famous ex-girlfriends, Jennifer Aniston. He also sang some of his biggest hits, which included “Crossroads”, “Gravity”, “Waiting On The World To Change”, “Bigger Than My Body”, “Half Of My Heart”, “Perfectly Lonely” and “Who Says”. John offered a special treat to his fans – a rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” (watch video below).

I was there. I saw John Mayer live for the first time and he was so much more than I expected him to be. I really want to believe John and I had a moment when the lights were hovering over the crowd and I was up on my piggy-back ride and did a heart sign Taylor Swif-style. I can swear John looked my way and smiled. It was amazing! He had to have seen it unless he suffers from myopia.

I digress. John is a fantastic singer, intense performer, has an incredible voice and he really feels what he is singing. John distributed a few super shy smiles and sexy flirty looks. And I couldn’t help but notice he has a very intimate relationship with his guitars. There is no other way to put it.

John changed guitars for every song and ended the show jamming on one of his girls (guitars!) down on his knees on the floor. After seeing the way he played and touched those guitars, I finally understood the power he has over women. John is quite popular with the ladies! At least a couple of girls fainted around me while John was playing. No kidding! It was a very hot day!

Actress Lindsay Lohan, who has already posted bail on the warrant for her arrested issued after she missed her scheduled court hearing on Thursday, celebrated her freedom in Cannes with some “friends” (more photos here).

The 23 year-old actress was caught with a strange white powder, possibly cocaine or just sugar (who knows?), in the foreground of a picture of Lindsay partying hard in Cannes. This picture will not have any relevance on Lindsay’s probation violation hearing because there is no way to prove what exactly was on the table.

Former NHL star and LA Kings assistant coach, Mark Hardy, was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing his 21 year-old daughter at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington D.C. on Friday (May 21).

The incident happened earlier that morning in the hotel. Mark’s daughter told the cops her 51 year-old dad “put his hand down [her] shorts and touched her genital area without her permission.” If Mark really did something like that, he sick and needs treatment.

The LA Kings said in a statement, “We are aware of the charge. Due to the legal nature of this matter, we will not have any additional comments at this time.”

“The Biggest Loser” contestants Stephanie Anderson and Sam Poueu managed to lose a lot of weight on the show but most importantly they finally found love. Stephanie confessed it was particularly difficult for her to feel confident enough to be in a romantic relationship because she was always seen as “the fat girl”.

“I immediately knew Sam was a great guy,” she says. “He’s sweet, he’s funny, he’s a family man. I was thinking, ‘I wonder if he looks at me as a fat girl.’ Little did I know, he had a crush on me!”

“Steph was beautiful, period,” he tells In Touch. “She was magnetic. I just wanted to consume my day with getting to know her because the more I got to know her, the better it felt for me.”

The dress was described as a “sterling-silver sequin, abstract floral, nude strapless gown” by Associated Press. A fashion editor quickly commented on this inaccuracy, saying, “Whose flesh? Not hers.”

“We talk of nude now and there is no one color. It’s politically incorrect,” said Gale Epstein, founder of the US lingerie brand Hanky Panky. “There is a wide range for skin tone colors. Human skins tones are a whole colour palette unto themselves.” Miss Epstein prefers to use a range of names, from “light chai” to “espresso”, to describe her wares.

Is the fashion world racist? We don’t think so. I never completely understood the concept of the color designated as “nude” because there is an extensive range of “nude” colors. But we would never say the color of Michelle’s dress is “nude” since it’s not even close to the First Lady’s skin tone and champagne would be a more correct way to describe it.
