Who Won The Amazing Race Season 16? Three teams, The Cowboys (Jet and Cord McCoy), The Model Couple (Brent Horne and Caite Upton) and The Brothers (Dan and Jordan Pious), battled it off for the title and $1 million prize on the sixteenth season finale of “The Amazing Race” on Sunday (May 9).

The three teams travelled to San Francisco for the final challenge, which consisted of ascending up the Coit Tower, navigating a virtual maze at visual effects company Industrial Light and Magic, lugging a giant trunk through the streets of the city and creating a timeline of previously eliminated teams.

Brothers Dan and Jordan Pious, who have taught us several surviving rules like the “backpack rule” and “bicycle rule”, have won the challenge and took home the prize, while the Cowboy brothers, Jet and Cord McCoy came in second place.

Actor Tom Cruise has been mocked and betrayed by members of The Church Of Scientology. Tom spilled his guts during confessional sessions that have been taped by Mark Rathbun, who claims the tapes have been used as entertaining material on Scientology parties for years.

In last night’s episode of Celebrity Apprentice (May 9), the remaining contestants divided into two teams, Tenacity (Cyndi Lauper, Holly Robinson Peete and Bret Michaels) and team Rock Solid (Sharon Osbourne, Curtis Stone and Maria Kanelis), were challenged to renovate a Manhattan apartment.

Holly and Sharon were the project managers for each team. They also had to create a celebrity room out of one of the two bedrooms of the apartment. There was a lot of tension between Holly and Cyndi, who was given the task to make the celebrity room, while Bret tried to be the team’s peacemaker, which in the end dictated Tenacity’s loss.

Donald Trump called Team Tenacity to the boardroom and right when he seemed to be ready to dismiss Bret, who has been recently hospitalized for a brain hemorrhage (read more details here), Cyndi admits the great red celebrity room idea was Holly’s and not hers. Donald had no choice by to tell Cyndi the dreadful words: “You’re Fired”.

Actor Tom Hanks’ son Colin Hanks and his longtime girlfriend, publicist Samantha Bryant have tied the knot at sunset on the roof of the London Hotel on Saturday (May 8).

The couple met through mutual friends and they have been engaged since last June. “We had the same group of friends and knew of each other, but never paid attention to it,” Colin told the NY Times last year.

The private ceremony was attended by 150 guests, which included stars like Steven Spielberg, Alyssa Milano and Reese Witherspoon accompanied by Jim Toth. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Former Biggest Loser contestant Rasha Spindel lost a couple of pounds on the show and finally found her true self as she left her husband Edwin Chapman after three years of marriage for her lesbian lover, Vanna Pecoraro (more pictures below).

Rasha told TMZ, “After 30 years, I finally realized I was gay. I have never been this happy as I am now as I am about to marry my best friend and soul mate who just happens to be the sexiest drag-king on the planet. I wish Edwin the best of luck and I hope he finds happiness.”

Rasha and Vanna are now happily together and engaged to be married. The couple has already set the wedding date – August 28. They want a small and private summer wedding. Congratulations!

Singer/actress and civil rights activist Lena Horne, who was the first black performer to sign a long-term contract with a major Hollywood studio, has sadly passed away at New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York on Sunday night (May 9). Lena was 92 years old.

The beautiful and talented actress was credited with breaking for black entertainers. “I really hated Hollywood and I was very lonely,” Lena once said in a Time magazine interview. “The black stars felt uncomfortable out there.”

Lena is survived by her daughter, author Gail Lumet Buckley. R.I.P. Lena Horne.

President Barack Obama has selected Solicitor General Elena Kagan to replace John Paul Stevens on the United States Supreme Court.  The official announcement should come some time tomorrow.

Kagan is a former dean of the Harvard Law School from 2003-2009.  She was the first female to hold that post.   She has served as Solicitor General for the Obama administration since spring 2009.  She started her career by clerking for the legendary Thurgood Marshall, who was the first African-American S.C. justice.

If confirmed Kagan would be the third woman on the court.

Mixed Martial Arts fighter Paul Daley attempted to sucker punch his opponent, Josh Koscheck after the final bell dictated a unanimous victory for Koscheck (watch video below). The irrational attitude has absolutely compromised Daley’s bright future in UFC.

Daley’s cheap shot got an immediate reaction from UFC honcho Dana White, who promised Daley will not be able to fight anymore and he was promptly released. Dana White told in the press conference after the match, “He’ll never come back … I don’t care if he’s the best 170-pounder in the world. He’s never coming back here. There’s no excuse for that. You never hit a guy like that after the bell.”
