Rock legend turned medical miracle Bret Michaels, who rose to fame as the lead singer of the rock band Poison, made a surprise appearance on the finale of American Idol tonight when he joined semi-finalist Casey James to sing Every Rose Has Its Thorn.

It was one of the more moving moments in the show’s nine year history as Michaels has been in and out of this hospital the past month with a hemorrhage of the brain, stroke, and other ailments that threatened his life.

Who Won American Idol 2010? Final Results May 26

Who Won 2010 American Idol Season 9? Last night, Crystal Bowersox and Lee Dewyze had their last opportunity to battle for your vote in a lukewarm sequence of three rounds on the American Idol final live performances show on Tuesday (May 25). Tonight is the night! This is… (*insert Ryan Seacrest’s suspense pause*) American Idol! And tonight (May 26), we will finally meet our new Idol.

READ American Idol 2010 Finale Preview, Predictions HERE

On the live results show, there will be a lot of surprises for the fans and even for judge Simon Cowell, who is leaving the show after nine glorious seasons. Superstars like Enrique Iglesias, Carrie Underwood and Christina Aguilera are confirmed to be performing their latest singles.

American Idol season 8 winner Kris Allen will also return to the Idol stage. Blake Lewis, Elliot Yamin and Taylor Hicks will also return, while Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia will perform a duet, “Together We Are One”, as a tribute to Simon Cowell. Paula Abdul is also rumored to be part of some special surprise to the departing judge.

This will be a very exciting final results show and of course General Larry Platt is back with “Pants On The Ground” (watch video here). The final 2, Crystal and Lee, must be extremely nervous and anxious. They left a final message to their fans on Idol’s official Facebook page:

Crystal Bowersox: This is it guys!!!! Tonight’s show is gonna be fantastic! I’ve got chills from all of the guest performers and all of the possibilities of tonight! Thanks to you all for getting me here! Hope I can do right by you. :-)

Lee DeWyze: Morning! Last night was craziness. I have to say, I had fun and I can’t wait to make an album. Thank you all soo(…)oo much for your love and support, it’s been amazing but it’s not over. I hope to be making music for a long time, can’t wait for the next step. You’ve been amazing, after results I’ll tweet. Thank you for voting and supporting, love you guys. – lee

WATCH Lee Dewyze American Idol Full Season Performances Videos HERE

Who will win American Idol? Before the live performance show yesterday, we were sure Lee Dewyze was going to be the fair winner of the Idol title. However, Crystal rose from the ashes to delivered three fantastic performances last night. Crystal had been just going through the motions for several weeks, which allowed Lee to gain momentum and popularity.

So Crystal wins… or maybe not! Lee has improved a lot throughout the competition. He has gained confident and earned our respect. Not to mention he is the sweet and humble guy who never talks back to the judges, as Crystal did sometimes. America loves sweet and humble guys, who look exactly like the boy next door.

At this point I don’t really have a favorite and I’m going to be happy for whoever wins tonight, but I really think Lee deserves it. Crystal is super talented and we know she has a very bright future ahead of her. We just want Lee’s life to take a dramatic turn and we want to see a lot more of him. Lee has a beautiful voice. I’m torn!

Paul Gray Dead Of Possible Overdose, Slipknot Speak (VIDEO)

Spliknot bassist Paul Gray, who died at his hotel room in Iowa on Monday (May 24), has possibly died of a drug overdose as a hypodermic needle and a bottle of pills were found on the scene by the hotel employee who called 911 (listen to audio here –graphic!).

The maintenance worker told the 911 operator that Paul’s mother had called that morning and hadn’t been able to get a hold of her song. He also said Paul seemed to have ODed. Paul’s death is still under investigation and the cause of death was deferred pending toxicology reports.

The members of the group Slipknot left their scary masks at home and were joined by Paul’s widow Brenna and his brother Tony in a press conference at Wells Fargo Arena Des Moines, Iowa (watch video below).

“There is really nothing more to say than that it’s very important that everybody, outside of us, understands that Paul Gray was the essence of the band Slipknot,” said percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan at a press conference

“Yesterday we lost our brother, and the world seems a little smaller because of it,” frontman Corey Taylor said. “He was everything that was wonderful about this band and this group of people. The only way I can sum up Paul is ‘love.’”

“It’s very hard for me right now,” added drummer Joey Jordison, another one of Slipknot’s original members. “I just want to say that I love you, Paul, very much. You’ll be sorely missed by the world over.”
