NBA Star Manute Bol Dead At 47
Former basketball player and activist Manute Bol, who was best known for being one of the tallest men to ever play in the NBA, passed away at a Virginia hospital on Saturday (June 19).
The 47 year-old Sudanese player (from 1985 to 1994) had been hospitalized since he suffered acute kidney failure back in May. Manute, whose name means “special blessing”, was involved in several charities in his country and donated an estimated $3.5 million to aid Sudanese refugees.
