Forbes’ 2010 Most Powerful Celebrities List

Forbes released its annual list of the richest and most powerful celebrities for 2010 on Monday (June 28). This list of most powerful celebs, which is based on earnings in the past 12 months, as well as visibility across print, television, radio, online, is clearly dominated by women.

Oprah Winfrey reclaims the #1 spot after being overpowered by actress Angelina Jolie (#18) last year. Eccentric Lady GaGa makes a triumphant entry in the #4 spot, while “Avatar” director James Cameron takes the third spot right behind Beyonce Knowles’ famous booty! Golfer Tiger Woods maintains the #5 ranking after one scandalous year.

Forbes’ Top 10 Most Powerful Celebs List:

  1. Oprah Winfrey: $315 million
  2. Beyonce Knowles: $87 million
  3. James Cameron: $210 million
  4. Lady Gaga: $62 million
  5. Tiger Woods: $105 million
  6. Britney Spears: $64 million
  7. U2: $130 million
  8. Sandra Bullock: $56 million
  9. Johnny Depp: $75 million
  10. Madonna: $58 million

      I guess it’s money that makes you the most powerful. Is it the media who feels this is so or the public? And either way, what does “power” mean in the sense of show business and entertaining people? I don’t get it….Who do Madonna and Lady GaGa “influence” for example..this demands further analysis
