Former basketball player and activist Manute Bol, who was best known for being one of the tallest men to ever play in the NBA, passed away at a Virginia hospital on Saturday (June 19).

The 47 year-old Sudanese player (from 1985 to 1994) had been hospitalized since he suffered acute kidney failure back in May. Manute, whose name means “special blessing”, was involved in several charities in his country and donated an estimated $3.5 million to aid Sudanese refugees.

Actor Joseph Gannascoli, who is best known for playing Vito Spatafore on “The Sopranos”, was arrested and charged with DUI in Tampa, Florida on Friday (June 18). The 51 year-old was pulled over around 2:40 am after allegedly making a wide right turn and drifting between lanes.

The cops noticed Joseph had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. When he took the field sobriety test, the actor blew a .111 on a Breathalyzer, which is above the legal limit of 0.08, and he was promptly arrested. Joseph was released after posting $500 bond.
