Last week Al and Tipper Gore shocked the world when they announced they were legally separating after 40 years of marriage.  Now comes word that their oldest daughter, Karenna Gore Schiff, is separating from her husband of thirteen years, Dr. Andrew Schiff according to CNN.

I am sure the Schiff’s felt pressure for quite sometime to stay together due to Al & Tipper’s example. That pressure dissipated last week with the split of Karenna’s parents.

Popular actor John Stamos, most famous for his role of Jesse on Full House and Tony Gates on E.R., guest starred on the hit show Glee last night and will have a recurring role moving forward as Jayma’s boyfriend (and her dentist).

In tonight’s episode (which I was on set for—playing a zombie!) we’ll learn that Jayma’s character, Emma, is “dating” her dentist. And that dentist will indeed be one Mr. John Stamos, who will appear in season two in a recurring role.

The irony here? You may remember that Emma has already talked about John Stamos. In the September 18 episode “Acafellas,” Jayma’s character said this line: “They say it takes certainty more than talent to make a star. I mean, look at John Stamos.”

Hilarious, right?! And further proof that John–and the producers–have a great sense of humor. I’m told the idea to get him on the show started with that very line.

Gleeks will be thrilled with the addition of Stamos the the cast.  Stamos first rose to fame as Blackie Parrish on General Hospital.  He has a history in Broadway musicals.

Actor Gary Coleman, who recently passed away after a fall at home, left a very enigmatic two-page will that was filed in a Provo, Utah court on Tuesday (June 8). The 42 year-old requests that his remains be cremated and makes restrictions to who is allowed to attend his funeral.

The actor wanted only “those who have no financial ties to me and who can look each other in the eyes and say they really cared personally for Gary Coleman,” according to the will.

In addition, “I direct my personal representative to permit no members of the press to be present at my wake or funeral,” the will states.

Gary’s will was written back in 1999 and appoints his former manager Dion Mial as the executor of his estate, giving him the power to arrange the funeral, asses the value of the estate and make certain decision on how to manage his money according to a trust.

“Before anyone gets paid, his medical and funeral bills have to be covered first,” Mial’s attorney Kent Alderman tells People. “Whatever’s left after that will be distributed according to his trust.”

Shawn Southwick, the wife of Larry King, reportedly accidently overdosed on pills at her Provo, Utah home based on a 911 emergency call made by her father Karl Engemann on May 28 (listen to 911 call here).

“I can’t wake her up,” Shawn’s father Karl says, “She may have overmedicated. I don’t think she did it on purpose. Last night she seemed confused about what she had taken, the last time she had taken it.”

“She’s unconscious. I slap her and I holler at her and she opens her eyes half way and puts them back down again,” he says early in the call. “I left my daughter here last night and she was fine. I come this morning she’s supposed to have a meeting in a while and she just seems to be out of it.”

Karl, who remained calm throughout the whole ordeal, tells the operator he is sure his daughter did not try to commit suicide. He went to check on her because they had a scheduled meeting together and found her unresponsive in her bed.

Shawn and her husband Larry King have both filed for divorce almost two months ago, but they reconciled and are currently trying to save their marriage. The two accused each other of having extramarital affairs: Larry with his sister-in-law Shannon Engemann (photos here) and Shaw with her sons’ baseball coach, Hector Penate (more details/photos here).

Karl ends up telling the dispatcher his daughter is married to Larry King and he doesn’t want to reveal personal information, but says Shawn was taking some meds for anxiety and depression.

Shawn went to rehab for an addiction to prescription painkillers due to her severe migraines back in 2008. Shawn and Larry tied the knot on September 5, 1997 and they have two sons.

Washington Nationals rookie phenom Stephen Strasburg dominated the hapless Pittsburgh Pirates in his Major League Baseball debut on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C.

Strasburg only gave up 4 hits in 7 innings while striking out 14 Pirates and walking none.

The only blemish in Strasburg’s sparkling debut came in the 4th inning when Delwyn Young hit a 2-run home run.  Besides the 4th inning, in which he gave up 3 hits, Strasburg was nearly unhittable.

He is the first player in MLB history to strike out more than 11 batters (14) without giving up a walk in his debut.
