The 19 year-old Colton Harris-Moore, who is best known as the “Barefoot Bandit” because he liked to go shoeless and leave chalk footprints while stealing cars, boats and airplanes, was finally arrested on northern Eleuthera island in the Bahamas on Sunday (July 11).

The Bahamian police have been looking for him since he reportedly crash-landed a stolen plane about a week ago on nearby Great Abaco island. The teen US fugitive, who gained fame and fans for his ability to evade arrest, has been on the run since escaping a Washington state halfway house in 2008 when he was only 17 years old.

Colton is a real “prodigy” in the worst possible way. He was first convicted for possession of stolen property at the tender age of twelve and had three more convictions before he even turned 13. Colton was sentenced to four years in juvenile detention after being caught in an unoccupied home back in 2007, but he escaped, sneaking out of the window in 2008.
