What’s with him liking Nicole? She’s icky icky icky. talks weird. looks weird. and that shnoz of hers! whoa!
First it appeared that Frank kind of overplayed the “I lived in Paris” and did not mention he lived at home. He left his job to be a free spirit screenwriter and live in Paris. Later it seemed he was there for two months. Now we learn he did not mention his relationship with Nicole to Ali. We did watch him suffer and sweat bullets over Ali’s closenses with the other men. In his departure, Ali mentioned that she had tried to reassure him. Even then, Frank is not being emotionally authentic or present. She tried to reassure him but he doesn’t have to admit that he was feeling vulnerable. He doesn’t have to admit he was not honest. Her first question was, if you were having these feelings, why didn’t you tell me? Well, you would have sent me home. I didn’t want to go. I wanted to find out. Selfish, as she said, but cowardly also. I hope he learns by watching himself suffering that if he just expresses himself honestly, he doesn’t have to munger and mope around and be weird. I am happy for him and Nicole. She seems sweet and graceful and definitely committed to him.
Frank is selfish and immature. The whole time he was saying he was unsure, even when he went home with Ali he told his family he was unsure. He turned out to be a real jerk. He probably wanted the free vacations around the world. Nicole can expect the same crap from him. He totally lacks character.
