US soccer star Landon Donovan, one of the big winners of this year’s ESPY Awards, has finally announced that he is not the father of the child a British woman, who claimed she had an affair with the LA Galaxy player, is carrying.

“I will not be a dad any time soon, which is good news for me,” Landon confessed. The 28 year-old was informed of the possibility that a woman was pregnant with his child during the World Cup. As a good man, Landon said at the time, if it was true, “I will provide the appropriate support.”

Landon and this unidentified woman allegedly had a couple of sexual encounters, while he was playing for Everton in Liverpool, England this year. But the baby is not his, so Landon is free to rekindle his romance with his wife, actress Bianca Bajlich (more photos here), from whom he has been separated for more than a year.
