The waitress asked for ID, I handed it over and she said "your 20". I replied yes I know, and I looked at her like she was crazy. Took me about a minute to realise "Oh, America!" Damned jet lag. Anyway, on topic you'll find most Brits start drinking in their early teens, nevermind the legal age being 18 (in Germany it is 14 for Beer! 18 for liquor). Quite frankly by the time we are 21 drinking is not such a novelty. However turning 21 is certainly a good excuse to visit the green fairy. He's British. 16 with meal and adult present...18 for full on legal. Although, he was in St. Petersburg (Russia) for his birthday...The legal drinking age there is 18 as well. He's been legally drinking everywhere but the US for a couple years now. Just sayin...At this point he was probably drinking because it's his birthday and he's in Russia.
