This is slightly embarrassing.

James Franco, stoner turned soap star, appeared on Good Morning America last week and told the show that he would be teaching a class at Yale University in January, where he is currently a Ph.D student.

Clearly, he was wrong. Here’s what Yale’s English Department Chair Michael Warner had to say:

“As a grad student in our program, he would not ordinarily teach until his third year. [Franco] was referring to another project: a proposal for a college seminar that did not work out for this year.”

Try not to smoke so much before you go on a morning show next time, Franco.
