If you haven’t read the news this morning, American Idol is churning out the headlines. And it’s starting to look as if Season 10 will be the last for the hit show.

According to sources, Steven Tyler of Aerosmith will be joining the show as a replacement for Simon Cowell. Really? Steven Tyler? Simon Cowell? Look, I love Aerosmith, but Tyler is no match for Cowell.

This news comes after Ellen Degeneres announced that she would be leaving the show (read statement here), and Kara DioGuardi was fired. I have to admit that I watched a lot of Season 9 because of the fact that Degeneres was a judge. It was refreshing, in my opinion, to see someone who wasn’t attached to the music industry judging. She wasn’t mean, but she got her point across, and she was a good representation of what most of America thinks when they’re watching the show. Kara, on the other hand, I never really understood. She had her moments, but I never really felt like she wanted to be there.

It was also announced yesterday that Jennifer Lopez would be joining the show as a replacement. That’s a strange choice, but at this point, they’ll be doing good to even air Season 10.

The only person left with a big, fat question mark is Randy Jackson. And all I’ve got to say about that is TEAM RANDY! I’ve always loved that man. I’ve even loved his “pitchy” comments. He’s nice. I can’t help it.
