People like Basil Marceaux, who is running to be the governor of the great state of Tennessee, only add to the negative perception some people nationally have of Tennessee and the South.

The video above says enough and too much at the same time. I am trying to be polite.  So just watch the video yourself.  But to be blunt, Basil is a complete embarrassment to all of us that were born or raised in Tennessee.

The hands-on favorite to actually win the race is Republican Bill Haslam, who has been the mayor of Knoxville since 2003.  Haslam and his family own all of the Pilot gas stations in the United States.
