The 21st season of Survivor, “Survivor: Nicaragua” will exploit the generation gap by dividing the contestants in two tribes: young (La Flor Tribe) vs. old (Espada Tribe).

Espada will include contestants older than 40 years old (Jimmy Johnson has already signed!), while La Flor will be made up of people in their 30’s and younger. CBS asks if “life experience and knowledge” will manage to outwit “youth and vitality”.

“Survivor: Nicaragua” will premiere at 8 pm EDT on Wednesday, September 15, 2010. We can wait! What do you think of the age twist this season?

British actor Tom Hardy, who is currently engaged to actress Charlotte Riley, confessed he had sexual relations with women… and MEN! The 32 year-old Inception star is pretty comfortable with his sexuality and has no problem discussing his gay experiences.

Talk show host/music lover Ellen DeGeneres, who recently launched her own record label ElevenEleven, just announced she is leaving the American Idol judges panel after only one season on the show.

Ellen DeGeneres released the following statement:

A couple months ago, I let FOX and the “American Idol” producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next.

It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on “Idol” and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.

Idol creator and executive producer Simon Fuller says, “I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly.”

Peter Rice, the FOX entertainment chairman, says, “We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of Idol. We were fortunate to receive the humor, energy and love for talent that she brought to the show.”

According to sources, Leonardo DiCaprio has dropped out of Mel Gibson‘s latest film. This isn’t the least bit surprising considering Mel’s recent domestic abuse scandal has everyone running.

The film is being produced by Graham King and Icon Pictures (Gibson’s company), and was to be directed by Mel himself.

A source close to DiCaprio said:

“Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson is not one of them.”

The film, rumored to be about vikings, was to be Mel’s first film with DiCaprio. The source added that Leo was worried about ruining his reputation by being a part of the film.

Let’s face it, Leo has enough money, fame, and power, for that matter, to drop out of whatever he wants. His recent film, Inception, has been a huge box office hit. I’m sure he’s already up and moving on to the next project.

Sara Gilbert, your favorite childhood lesbian and star of television show Roseanne, came out during a press conference Wednesday at the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles. The 35-year-old former actress is the executive producer and co-host of upcoming talk show The Talk.

While being interviewed on a panel, she was asked if she was comfortable being “out” on The Talk. She responded saying:

“This is a whole new world for me. I’m not an expert on this, or I don’t analyze these things,” she explained later. “I’m just sort of living my life.”

“I don’t think [being out] will be a problem…I don’t ever really think of things as being out or in…I just think I am who I am, and when topics come up that are appropriate, I’ll talk about them and share when it seems right.”

Gilbert has two children with television producer Allison Adler. Their son, Levi, is 5, and their daughter, Sawyer, will turn 3 in August. Adler gave birth to Levi, while Gilbert gave birth to Sawyer. Good team work, girls. The two have been a couple since 2002.

The Talk will focus on six women from different backgrounds. The co-hosts include Gilbert, Marissa Jaret Winokour, Julie Chen, Leah Remini, Sharon Osbourne, and Robinson Peete.

Gilbert added:

“I’ve been acting my whole life, and I’ve never really discussed my personal life. This is a talk show…So obviously I’m going to be discussing my life more.”

I’m a fan of The View, so I’m interested to see how The Talk will turn out. Nothing like a bunch of women arguing over menopause, men, and politics! Will you be watching?

Janet is setting a ready bad moral example – not because she is a fur lover, but because it seems like her opinion on certain matters can be easily changed to adjust to her personal/financial interests.
