Actor Mel Gibson is currently under fire after the leak of secretly-recorded tapes, in which he is heard using racial slur to attack the mother of his baby daughter, Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva (more details here).

The tapes in question are part of the nasty divorce and custody battle between Mel and Oksana, who accused the actor of domestic abuse. Mel has a restraining order against Oksana prohibiting her from releasing these tapes. The 40 year-old singer’s lawyers vehemently denied that she was the leak.

Meanwhile, Mel is possibly the most hated man in the country at the moment. This is not the first time Mel has proven to be narrow-minded, adding racist and sexist to his 2006 anti-Semitic comments. Here are the first reactions to Mel Gibson’s rant:

Rev. Jesse Jackson said, “Mel Gibson’s outburst demonstrates once again that we are far from a society that is ‘beyond race and racism.’ His penchants for anti-Semitic and racist diatribes reveal the actor’s fundamental character flaw. He needs help. But as a society we must redouble our efforts to combat racism and eradicate racial inequalities wherever they may exist.”
Reverend Al Sharpton via National Action Network said, “The use of the “N” word and calling women denigrating terms combined with Gibson being accused of anti-semitism makes us wonder whether he is an outright bigot. We intend to aggressively look into this matter.”
Infamous celebrity mistress lawyer, Gloria Allred released the following statement:
“If in fact these quotes are accurate, Mr. Gibson’s statements are appalling. They exhibit the worst kind of racism and sexism. They clearly demonstrate a woman hating temperament which, in my opinion, is dangerous to women.
“Also his contempt for African Americans is evident,” she continues. “He is clearly in need of anger management and intense counseling for his hatred of racial minorities and women. I am very concerned about the risk of harm that I believe he presents to women and minorities unless he receives effective counseling.”
Actor Mike Epps warned Mel, “We gonna get Danny Glover on you … he gonna whoop you!” Mel and actor Danny Glover starred together in classic action-comedy movie series of “Lethal Weapon”.
L.A. NAACP (National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People): “It’s unfortunate a man who has made his millions off of women, African-Americans and Jews harbor such racist, sexist, and anti-semitic feeling against people who have admired and respected him for decades. An apology is insufficient given his history of racism, sexism and anti-semitism.” Jenkins adds, “No amount of words will change his image as an out of date and out of control racist.”
Anti-Defamation League (Jewish anti-discrimination organization) said, “Most people who hate one group hate another. Not only has Mel Gibson shown himself to be an anti-Semite, he’s a racist.”
