On Being Perfect: “You have to not pretend to be perfect, because that’s not only boring as f**k, but it’s just not real…So I feel so liberated in that way. I just really want to be true to myself. That’s essential in life. I would never be able to put on a charade. I would totally f**k it up.”

On her In-Between Period: “I had a big gap in my life where I wasn’t allowed to work at all because no one would hire me, which was great because I think you need that humility. You have to have everything taken away, or you have to have a major reality check, so that you always appreciate what you have.”

On Simulating Phone Sex in her New Movie, Going the Distance: “You know, phone sex going awry is just a funny concept to me and I thought, This is going to be one of those scenes where we have to go balls out, and if it doesn’t work, it’s going to be editing room floor crap.”

So Drew, where’d you get your jeans? “I never have time for shopping… I’ve been wearing the same f**king pair of jeans for 10 years.”

Haitian born musician Wyclef Jean, best known for his work with the now defunct Fugees, is considering running to become President of his native Haiti.  Jean was born there but moved to New York City when he was five years old.

In a statement e-mailed to reporters, the family said, “Wyclef’s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless, and he will remain its greatest supporter regardless of whether he is part of the government moving forward … If and when a decision is made, media will be alerted immediately.”

It wouldn’t be an easy road for Jean to be elected president of the earthquake ravaged country.  In addition to proving his eligibility for the office, he would likely have to encounter violence, protests and other obstacles to win.

To enter the race, Jean would have to prove he has resided in Haiti for five consecutive years, own property in the country and have never been a citizen of any country other than Haiti.

Whoever wins will face the gargantuan task of rebuilding a country devastated by the Jan. 12 earthquake. Haiti has not had a functioning economy in decades and its presidents have only rarely completed a constitutional five-year term — more typically being overthrown, getting assassinated, declaring themselves “president-for-life” or some combination of the three.

In my opinion there is little to no chance that Wyclef will actually run.  He is likely viewed as a superstar by his native country but also viewed as an outsider.  I don’t want to say the country is hopeless, but Haiti faces a gargantuan task of recovering and rebuilding from the January earthquake.  I just don’t think when it comes down to it that Wyclef would be willing to trade in his life of wealth, riches, and privilege to be in charge of something so massive, time consuming, and emotionally draining.

Already a country known for it’s corruption that likely will only increase with billions of dollars of world-wide aid coming in for earthquake relief.  Perhaps Jean would have enough star power, be able to lead and inspire a helpless nation, and help bring them out of the desperate times that they now face.

Drew Carey replaced Bob Barker on television show Price Is Right almost three years ago, and Bob must not be a fan of the new show.

A friendly TMZ cameraman caught up with Barker on Monday. Here’s what he had to say:

“[Drew] does his show differently than I did. I tried to make the show really exciting and he doesn’t do that — he just plays the games.”

General Motors has announced that their much anticipated electric Chevy Volt will hit storerooms with a $41,000 price tag.

Rebates and tax credits will help make it more affordable for some consumers.  There is currently a federal tax credit of $7,500 for those who buy an electric car.  The state of California offers an additional $5,000 rebate.

GM is also offering an attractive lease program to help make it more affordable.

GM’s Description of the Volt

Volt is an electric car that uses gas to create its own electricity. Plug it in, let it charge overnight, and it’s ready to run on a pure electric charge for up to 40 miles(3) — gas and emissions free. After that, Volt keeps going, even if you can’t plug it in. Volt uses a range-extending gas generator that produces enough energy to power it for hundreds of miles on a single tank of gas.

It will be interesting to see if the electric car can finally take off in America.  If we could ever free ourselves of Middle Eastern oil it would take power away from many of the terrorist factions and leaders of the region.

According to sources, Nigel Lythgoe, producer and judge of So You Think You Can Dance, could possibly return to American Idol as an executive producer after Simon Cowell‘s departure.

He helped begin the American Idol phenomenon in the U.S. and stuck with it for six years after the start of the show.

Lythgoe has revealed that if he were to become producer of the show, he would axe the current judging panel made up of Randy Jackson, Ellen Degeneres, and Kara DioGuardi. His celebrity judge wish list includes Usher, Paula Abdul, and Elton John. The former music mogul has been rumored to be joining the judging panel himself since Cowell’s departure was announced.

Bret Michaels Wants To Be The New American Idol Judge

All of this could become quite a problem considering that Randy Jackson still has a year left of his contract, and Ellen Degeneres is part of a multiyear deal with FOX which she is prepared to renew.

The good news is, DioGuardi can go. She has yet to be renewed for another year of the show.

This could be a smart move for the show because practically everything Lythgoe touches turns to television gold.

Actress Angelina Jolie, who’s currently promoting her new spy action movie “Salt” all over the world, has finally officially joined Twitter. The 35 year-old is not planning on using her account anytime soon since she completely locked it.

“Jolie had her people obtain the account for her so no one else could have that username,” a source tells US. “There was actually someone else using @AngelinaJolie  but Angelina requested the account suspended and took it over.”

Twitter suspended the old account @AngelinaJolie. Angelina herself is now the owner of the account but she has no followers and is not following anyone. There’s a warning on her Twitter bio that reads, “This account has been locked. NO followers are currently being accepted.”

Hugh Laurie, House M.D. star and Golden Globe-winner, will be recording a blues album this summer. The album will be released through Warner label WME in the fall. Laurie is a self-taught musician who has been seen playing the guitar and piano on various television shows throughout his career. Laurie said:

”I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. I know the history of actors making music is a chequered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favourite records of all time, and I can’t wait to get started.”

Apparently, Laurie played on Meat Loaf‘s latest album. Meat Loaf!
