Well, that was a whole lot of fuss about nothing.

Cougar Town producer Bill Lawrence told Entertainment Weekly that he’s decided to stick with the original name:

“I’m not changing the title. We never thought of a good new one, which kind of sucks. And when you look at the modern landscape of television, changing the title means changing your DVR and all this other stuff.”

He also added that hopefully all of the hoopla surrounding the name change will get people interested in watching the show:

“It’ll be a funny burden to have. It might be the worst titled show of all time.”

I’m gonna have to agree with you there, Bill. Cougar Town IS the worst titled show of all time. But I do hope that the show is better this season. I’ve tried really hard to like it since it began in 2009. Courteney Cox is a doll, but this show is lacking in plot development big time. It’s just a bore. Better luck next season!
