A dedicate JetBlue Flight Attendant named Steven Slater turned into a hero overnight after he was arrested for an altercation with a stubborn passenger followed by a super hero escape through the plane’s evacuation slide (photos/video below).

The JetBlue Flight 1052 had just landed when Steven asked the passenger to sit down. The passenger insisted on getting her luggage from the overhead compartment and eventually “innocently” hit him in the head while “maliciously” pulling the bin down. Steven demanded an apology and the passenger refused.

That’s when Steven allegedly got on the PA system to tell all the passengers on board, “To the passenger who just called me a m**her**ker, f**k you. I’ve been in this business 28 years, and I’m done.” Steven opened the exit door, grabbed two beers and launched himself off the plane via the evacuation slide.

Steven calmly went home. Authorities tracked him down and promptly arrested him. Steven, who reportedly has been struggling since his mother became very ill, faces reckless endangerment charges. Steven is the new American hero.
