The singer has reportedly been offered $1 billion if she signs a five-year residency deal with the city of Las Vegas. This move would push Madonna up the list to the third position of highest paid female performers, putting her behind Oprah Winfrey and Martha Stewart. I would have a slight problem with Martha Stewart being ahead of me. Go on and make that move, woman.

In 2007, Madonna signed a ten-year touring contract with Live Nation for a reported $120 million. It is not clear if this deal would interfere with the Vegas arrangement or not. After “road-testing” dancers earlier this year, it was rumored that she was planning a hip-hop tour.

As much as I want the queen of pop to come to Vegas, I don’t know if America can handle her for that long.
