Man Makes Suicide Jump Onto Stage At Swell Season Show Last Night
An unidentified man reportedly killed himself at a Swell Season concert in California last night.
According to reports, he ran to the edge of the roof of a nearby building and leapt… falling three stories onto the stage below, and landing close to singer Glen Hansard during the band’s performance at the Saratoga Mountain Winery.
A witness who spoke to SF Weekly said:
“At first, we thought it was a dummy (prank of sort)or part of the lighting, but after seeing the horrible shock on Glenn’s face, we realized it was something very serious. He came out of nowhere. The staff acted quickly and tried to resuscitate the man, but to no avail. What a horrible end to a wonderful evening.”
Doctors immediately began performing CPR on the guy, who was motionless. Hansard walked over to the man, who was surrounded by blood, but doctors were unable to revive him.
The Swell Season have released a statement regarding last night’s tragedy:
“The band, crew and all involved with them are shocked and saddened by the unfortunate events of last night. Their hearts go out to the victim and his friends and family.”
This is so, so awful, but I can’t help but be a little angry that the guy ruined the experience for so many people. A cry for attention, obviously, but just a horrible way to seek it.
